A Stitch a Day Makes This Woman a Happy Camper

I finally got my complimentary copy of Crochet Today!

I'm a big fan of scarves and I love crocheting and knitting my I was tickled pink when I saw that the magazine had a lotta new scarf patterns! There are a lot of patterns that I know I won't use I am still contemplating whether I would subscribe or not.

What's a good crochet magazine to subscribe to, anyway? Any suggestions? Advices? Ideas?

Speaking of scarves, here's a couple of the ones that I recently made. I don't have a fancy schmancy name to call this particular pattern....but it looks like cobwebs when I spread it out.

Errr....maybe I can call it "Cobweb Scarf". Whatcha think?

Anyway, I wanted to share this pattern with y'all so you can make your very own Cobweb Scarf. It's such an easy pattern so it's perfect for beginners. I am a novice at pattern-making so feel free to contact me for any corrections.

Cobweb Scarf Pattern:

Chain 52.

First Row:
DC on 7th chain from the hook.
Chain 5 then DC on 5th chain. Repeat until you reach the end of the chain.

Second Row:
Chain 7 and turn. DC on 5-chain space.
Chain 5 and DC on 5-chain space repeat until the end of the row.

Third Row:
Repeat second row and do the same with the rest of the rows until you reach your desired scarf length.

Happy Crocheting!

I found this cute yarn called Pomp-A-Doodle by Red Heart Yarns on sale at Michael's and thought I'd try working with it. It was a challenge trying to knit with it but I finally managed to make a little purse using this yarn.

I'm already done lining it but I'm still trying to make up my mind as to what kind of bag handle I'd use. I was thinking maybe beads....

I made Bistek Tagalog for lunch, in between my crocheting escapades. It's a traditional Filipino dish made with Pork, Kalamansi Juice and you guessed it right - a lotta onions!

Well....that's it for me today.
Happy Monday, Bloggers!

The Wonderful World of Couponing

I saw a commercial about an Extreme Couponing TV show and got a tad too curious about it. Next thing I know, I was on my computer, searching like mad for coupons that I can take with me when I go grocery shopping. To my surprise, it wasn't such a difficult feat and I saved right around $30 on my first trip to the grocery store! From then on, I became a coupon aficionado.

There are a lot of sites offering free coupons but my favorite sites are these ones:

Let's admit it...the economy's quite shaky nowadays and we can all use a couple of discounts or freebies here and there. Now that I'm a full time student, I sure can use as much coupons as I can get to save money for leisure and unexpected expenses.

So what are y'all waiting for?! Give it a shot...I know you wanna save money as much as I do!
